Clinical Intake Consultation

A thorough 1–2 hour clinical interview that helps you understand what assessment or treatment you actually need — before committing to a comprehensive service.

In short

The Clinical Intake Consultation is a cost-effective first step: a 1–2 hour clinical interview about your background and concerns, followed by a brief letter with our recommendations. If you then book an assessment with us, the intake fee is deducted from the total assessment cost — so nothing is wasted.

Why start with an intake consultation?

Comprehensive assessments are a significant investment of time and money. The intake consultation gives you an informed, clinician-led view of what’s most likely to help before you commit — whether that’s an ADHD or autism assessment, a learning assessment, a neuropsychological assessment, therapy, or something else entirely.

  • Clarifies your assessment needs and/or the most effective treatment direction
  • Avoids paying for an assessment that doesn’t answer your questions
  • Produces a brief recommendations letter for your GP or treating clinician
  • If you proceed with us, the information flows straight into your formal report — and the fee is credited

What happens in the session

We gather important information about your (or your child’s) background and presenting concerns: developmental, medical, educational and work history, current difficulties, and what you hope to get from an assessment or therapy. Bring any previous reports, school reports or medical letters you have.

Cost

The consultation is charged at our hourly rate of $240. If you subsequently decide to undergo an assessment with us, we deduct the amount paid for your intake from the total assessment cost — for example, $480 for a 2-hour consultation.

Please noteThe Clinical Intake Consultation is not a diagnostic assessment. Our recommendations are based on the information provided within the consultation and may evolve as more context emerges. Recommendations for assessment or treatment do not guarantee a specific diagnosis or treatment outcome.

Clinical Intake Consultation: common questions

How much does the Clinical Intake Consultation cost?

It’s charged at our standard hourly rate of $240 — for example $480 for a 2-hour consultation. If you go on to have an assessment with us, we deduct the amount you paid for the intake from the total assessment cost.

Will I get a diagnosis from the consultation?

No. The Clinical Intake Consultation is not a diagnostic assessment. It gives you informed guidance about what assessment or treatment is most likely to help, based on the information available in the session.

What do I receive afterwards?

A brief letter summarising our recommendations, which can be sent to your GP or another treating clinician of your choice. If you proceed with an assessment through us, the information gathered is built into your formal report.

Who is it suitable for?
