Psychological therapy in the Adelaide Hills and Adelaide East

Evidence-based therapy that helps you change your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want.

In short

Our psychologists provide evidence-based individual therapy using cognitive-behavioural approaches and “third-wave” therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and emotion-focused approaches — in person at Mount Barker or Royston Park, or via telehealth. Medicare rebates are available with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan.

What we help with

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Men’s mental health — including for those who’d prefer a male psychologist
  • Adjusting to medical and neurological conditions
  • Functional neurological disorder (FND)
  • Living with brain injury, stroke or dementia — and caring for someone who is
  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, autism) across the lifespan
  • Stress, life transitions and burnout
  • Long COVID and persistent post-concussion symptoms

Our approach

We draw on traditional cognitive-behavioural interventions as well as “third-wave” approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and emotion-focused approaches.

Rather than fighting difficult thoughts or avoiding painful emotions, these frameworks help you shift your relationship with internal struggles and process complex feelings. By changing how you engage with life’s hardships, we support you to build lasting resilience and take purposeful steps toward a fulfilling life.

We also know that hardship and suffering are part of the shared human experience. While challenges are inevitable, no one has to navigate them alone — and often our greatest struggles highlight what we value most.

Who you’ll see

Psychological Therapy: common questions

Can I claim a Medicare rebate for therapy?

Yes. Under Better Access, with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral from your usual GP or MyMedicare practice (or a psychiatrist or paediatrician), you can claim up to 10 individual and up to 10 group sessions per calendar year. The rebate is $101.55 per 50+ minute session (as at 1 July 2026), and we can process it on the spot — it’s usually in your bank account within 24–48 hours.

Do you have a male psychologist?

Yes — Cameron and Andrew are both male psychologists, which some people prefer, particularly for men’s mental health. Andrew has a particular interest in men’s mental health. You’re welcome to request a clinician when you enquire.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session is an intake appointment — a safe space to talk about your history, current challenges and goals. We’ll also cover confidentiality and practice policies. It’s a chance to see whether you feel comfortable with your therapist’s style.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Individual therapy is available in person at Mount Barker or Royston Park, or via telehealth.

Can a psychologist prescribe medication?

No. Psychologists in Australia are not medical doctors and cannot prescribe medication. If medication is part of your care, we work collaboratively with your GP or psychiatrist.

Do you offer early or after-hours appointments?

Weekday appointments before 9am or from 5pm may be available, with a $20 after-hours surcharge.

Ready to start therapy?
