Therapy services

Occupational therapy

Personalised, goal-focused occupational therapy that builds the skills, routines and supports people need to participate fully at home, school, work and in the community.

In short

Occupational therapy helps people build independence in the everyday activities that matter to them. Our Senior Occupational Therapist provides evidence-based, client-centred intervention for executive functioning, emotional regulation, sensory processing, self-care, fine and gross motor skills and community participation — tailored to each person’s strengths, goals and support needs.

Areas we work on

  • Executive functioning — planning, organisation, time management
  • Emotional regulation
  • Sensory processing
  • Self-care and daily living skills
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Community participation
  • Cognitive rehabilitation
  • Functional independence across home, school and community

Who we help

  • Children and teenagers who are autistic, have ADHD or developmental delays, or find everyday routines, school or regulation hard
  • Young adults building independence — study, work, living skills and community access
  • Adults with cognitive or functional changes after illness, brain injury or neurological conditions
  • Older adults who want to stay safe and independent at home

How it works

  1. Initial assessment — understanding goals, strengths, challenges and environments.
  2. Goal setting — clear, meaningful goals agreed with the person and family.
  3. Intervention — skill-building, strategies, routines, environmental changes and equipment recommendations.
  4. Review — tracking progress and adjusting the plan; reports for NDIS and other funders when required.

Fees and funding

Occupational therapy is $200 per hour privately. For self- and plan-managed NDIS participants, OT is billed at the 2026–27 NDIS price limit. Medicare rebates may apply with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan, or under the complex neurodevelopmental disorder items for eligible young people under 25. Support at Home, DVA, ReturnToWorkSA, Lifetime Support and private health may also apply — see fees & funding.

Need evidence for the NDIS or aged care? See functional capacity assessments.

Who you’ll see

Occupational Therapy: common questions

What does an occupational therapist do?

Occupational therapists help people do the everyday things that matter to them — self-care, learning, work, play and community life. That might mean building skills (like planning or regulation), adapting the environment, or finding strategies and equipment that increase independence.

Do you see children?

Yes. Georgia’s experience has largely focused on children and young people, including autistic young people and those with ADHD and developmental delays. She also works with adults on neurocognitive rehabilitation and functional independence.

Can I use NDIS funding?

Yes — self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants can use their capacity building funding. Occupational therapy is billed at the 2026–27 NDIS price limit of $193.99 per hour.

Is there a Medicare rebate for OT?

Medicare rebates may be available with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (up to 5 allied health services per year, shared across disciplines; $63.40 rebate), or under the complex neurodevelopmental disorder items for eligible young people under 25 ($89.50 rebate). See Medicare.
